Titan Vs Muthoot Finance: Which Gold Stock Should You Buy?

Gold prices continue to soar, hitting fresh all-time highs multiple times in 2025. In this exclusive excerpt from Business Today TV's Market Today show, experts Gaurav Dua, Head of Capital Market Strategy at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, and Arpit Beriwal, Analyst - Derivatives, Wealth Management at Motilal Oswal Financial Services, share their insights on the impact of rising gold prices, the outlook for gold-themed stocks, and their preferred stock picks for investors. Gaurav Dua views: Key Highlights: 📌 Gold’s Rally & Its Investment Potential: 🔹 Gaurav Dua emphasises the importance of multi-asset funds that provide exposure to equity, debt, gold, and silver. 🔹 Multi-asset funds have outperformed other asset classes in the last 5-6 months and remain a strong investment option. 🔹 Rising gold prices boost the Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio for gold financiers, increasing their loan collateral value. 🔹 However, intense competition from public sector banks could pressure margins for NBFC gold lenders like Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance. 📌 Arpit Beriwal's stock Picks in the Gold Sector: 🔹 Titan (Large Cap Pick) – Trading within a range of ₹3,200-₹3,800, Titan remains a strong pick, with ₹3,200-₹3,250 identified as an ideal entry point. 🔹 Muthoot Finance (Mid-Cap Pick) – Currently in a strong uptrend, but Arpit Beriwal suggests waiting for a dip to ₹2,120-₹2,140 for a better risk-reward entry. 🔹 Silver also presents an opportunity as an alternative commodity investment. 📈 What’s Next for Gold Investors? Should you continue holding gold-related stocks? How will competition affect gold financiers? Watch now for expert insights!

Steel & Aluminium Stocks Under Pressure – Should You Buy Or Sell?

Indian markets, especially metal stocks, have taken a hit, with the rupee hitting a record low and gold prices soaring to an all-time high. How significant is this impact, and what does it mean for investors in the Indian market? He highlights that India’s steel exports to the US (worth $2 billion) and aluminium exports ($280 million) will be affected, but the bigger concern lies in Trump’s stance on India's trade policies. The fear is that India’s high differential duties compared to other trading partners might invite further trade restrictions or policy shifts. Investors are now closely watching potential negotiations between Indian authorities and the US administration to find a resolution. Until then, markets remain on edge, and sectors with global linkages, including metals, are expected to stay under pressure. Watch the full discussion to understand the market implications and investment strategies amid this global uncertainty!

Mirae Asset Sharekhan's Outlook On Auto Sector: Why M&M Is The Top Pick?

Will the auto sector continue its strong recovery, or is the recent surge in sales just a short-term trend? In this in-depth discussion from Market Today on Business Today TV, Gaurav Dua, Head of Capital Market Strategy at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, breaks down the latest trends in the two-wheeler, four-wheeler, and commercial vehicle segments and shares his outlook on the sector’s future. January’s auto sales numbers were historic, with leading players like Maruti Suzuki posting strong growth. However, Gaurav Dua highlights that Maruti's recent success was driven by exports rather than a revival in domestic demand. This shift suggests that while international markets are showing strength, the Indian passenger vehicle market has yet to see a full-fledged turnaround. Meanwhile, commercial vehicles have faced a downward revision in sales estimates, raising concerns about demand in that segment. On the investment front, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) remains the preferred stock in the auto space. Gaurav Dua explains that M&M’s efficient capital allocation, improving subsidiary performance, and strong SUV & EV demand have made it an outperformer for over two years, and it continues to be a solid bet for investors. The company’s strategic focus on electric vehicles (EVs) and SUVs, along with healthy financial management, sets it apart from competitors. The policy landscape has also evolved, with auto stocks no longer facing the negative budget impact they once did. Earlier, new budgets often brought unexpected taxation on auto parts, but now, with GST reforms and positive announcements for EV and battery players, the sector is in a much better position. The government’s recent focus on custom duty adjustments for EVs and battery components further signals support for the industry’s long-term growth. 📉 So, what lies ahead for auto stocks? Will domestic demand pick up, or will exports continue to drive growth? Should investors bet on traditional players or EV-focused companies? Watch the full discussion for expert insights on the road ahead!

Rupee Fall Deep Dive: Will The Government Step In Or Let It Slide?

Is the Indian rupee heading towards ₹90 per USD? Gaurav Dua, Head of Capital Market Strategy at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, sheds light on the rupee’s sharp depreciation, the RBI’s intervention strategy, and the potential risks and opportunities for investors. The Reserve Bank of India has already spent $20-25 billion in forex reserves to stabilise the currency, but now the focus has shifted to infusing liquidity rather than aggressively defending the rupee. According to Gaurav Dua, while the rupee has performed better than other emerging market currencies, it is likely to depreciate further, potentially reaching ₹89-90 per USD in the second half of 2025. For investors, a weakening rupee means imported inflation, especially given India’s dependence on energy imports. However, with crude oil prices currently low, the overall impact might be less severe than in past depreciation cycles. The government and the RBI are expected to let the rupee find its own level rather than intervene heavily. 📉 What should investors do now? Should they hedge against further depreciation, or is this an opportunity? Watch this insightful discussion to understand the road ahead!
